The cab, which was not yet optimally designed, as well as corrections to the vehicle part led to the development of the successor series V 60.12. Overall, however, the V 60.10 proved itself, so that the last examples of the Deutsche Reichsbahn were not taken out of service until 1990. Some private railway companies still have the locomotives in service today.
