A white 9 × 9 cm cube with a glass pane underneath The Senza SQ is a small surface-mounted fitting shaped as a plain cube: 9 cm to a side, 9.5 cm tall. The underside is closed by a pane of clear glass through which the round white diffuser of the LED module shows. The effect is deliberately restrained — from below the fitting reads as a white square with a bright circle at its centre, from the side as a simple geometric body with no ornament at all. IP65 — fully dust-tight and resistant to water jets IP65 is the level meant for outdoor use exposed to driving rain, hosing down, or wind-blown dust. The manufacturer points the fitting at entrances, terraces and adjoining areas where uniform lighting matters. That same sealing also makes it suitable for wet interiors — above a shower, say, or in a utility room. 6 W, 757 lumens, warm 3000 K The built-in LED module draws 6 W and delivers 757 lm at 3000 K. It is a single point of light with roughly the output of a 60 W incandescent, concentrated in a 9 cm body — which is why the Senza SQ works best in a row: several units at 1.5–2 m spacing over an entrance, a colonnade or a terrace give an even band of light rather than one bright patch. A colour rendering index of CRI 80 is the usual figure for functional outdoor lighting. Light source and driver are both included Nothing needs buying separately: the LED module is integrated into the fitting and the transformer sits inside it, so the luminaire connects directly to an ordinary 230 V circuit. The manufacturer quotes a life of up to 20,000 operating hours. The price of that integration is that when the diodes are spent you replace the whole fitting rather than a lamp — standard in this class of outdoor luminaire. Mounting and planning The fitting mounts on the ceiling surface; at 700 g it makes no structural demands, though in a suspended ceiling it is worth hitting a channel. Geometry helps when laying out the points: a 9 cm cube takes no room in a narrow colonnade or on a lintel, yet is defined enough that a row of several gives a facade its rhythm. Where it works Above a front door, under an eave, on a terrace or in a garden pavilion, in passageways and colonnades — and, thanks to IP65, in a bathroom above the shower too. The plain white body imposes no style: it suits a modern rendered or concrete facade and does not clash with a classical one. Senza is also made round (Senza R) and in anthracite, so one building can be kept in a single language.
