End cap for the LUMINES axel LED profile in white, made of ABS, in the scored-hole version – hence the "2-in-1" name. Manufacturer's reference: 12-1511-01. What "2-in-1" means The cap has the cable opening marked at the factory but not cut out. It reaches the customer as a solid cap, and where a cable has to leave that end of the profile, you simply break out the scored section. The practical gain is straightforward: you do not have to decide at ordering time which end of the profile will be the fed one. You buy one type of cap for the whole installation and settle it on site, during fitting – which on longer runs, and when working into a finished interior, can save the day. The manufacturer also offers unambiguous versions: aluminium with a hole (12-1511-10) and aluminium without (12-1511-11). What an end cap is for at all An aluminium profile is sold as a length with raw cut ends – you can see the channel for the LED strip, the edge of the diffuser and the wiring. The cap closes that section: it hides the inside of the profile, keeps dust off the strip and its soldered joints, and supports the end of the cover, which without it tends to lift away from the profile over time. It is a small part, easily lost during installation, which is why it is also bought on its own as a spare – not only with a first fit. Matched to the axel profile The cap is dedicated to the LUMINES Design+ axel profile and is not interchangeable with caps from other ranges – profile sections differ by millimetres, and that decides whether the part holds by push fit. When ordering, check both range and colour: on a surface installation the cap's edge is visible alongside the edge of profile and cover. In the same range the manufacturer offers ABS caps with a scored hole in silver (12-1515-01), grey (12-1514-01), black (12-1512-01), Rock Anthracite RAL 7016 (12-1519-01), Reed Green RAL 6013 (12-1516-01), Sky Blue (12-1517-01) and Light Ivory RAL 1015 (12-1518-01). Why ABS ABS is the practical choice here: springy enough for the cap to hold without adhesive and come off again when the strip needs servicing, and stiff enough not to distort under the heat the profile carries away. Breaking out the scored section is clean in ABS – the material parts along the groove without tearing the wall.
