The s.luce Hook in Blattgold is a square 62 x 62 cm plate finished in gold leaf, mounted flat against the ceiling or the wall. A slim dark arm hangs beneath it carrying a horizontal LED bar that shines upwards onto the plate. The gilding has a visibly uneven texture, so the reflected light is not a smooth patch. How this fitting lights The whole output lands on the gold plate first and only then bounces back into the room. That makes it indirect light: looking up at the fitting you see no glowing source, but it will not light a worktop or a desk either — this is mood and ambient lighting, not task lighting. The manufacturer quotes 1600 lm at 3000 K, a warm white close to a traditional filament lamp, which the gilding warms further. Colour rendering is above Ra 80. The arm holding the light source swivels, so the direction of the bounce can be adjusted after installation. How much space it takes The plate occupies a 62 x 62 cm square of ceiling or wall — set that against the clear area at the mounting point, since the fitting sits flat across the whole plate. The arm reaches 25 cm down, and that is what decides how much headroom is lost below the ceiling. The same fitting is intended for both ceiling and wall. Wall-mounted, the plate stands vertical and the light is thrown sideways along the wall. Supply, dimming and service life Supply is 230 V and the fitting is protection class I, so an earth conductor is needed to connect it. It is intended for indoor use. The LED module is built in permanently — there is no replaceable bulb, and at the end of its life the whole fitting is replaced. The manufacturer states 25,000 operating hours — roughly twenty-two years at three hours a day — and 20,000 switching cycles. The fitting dims, but needs a leading- or trailing-edge phase-cut dimmer rather than an ordinary switch. Power draw is 18 W and the energy efficiency class is G on the A to G scale.
