TEMPO 50/19 is the shade on its own — square, 50 cm to a side and 19 cm tall, covered in white polycotton with white PVC on the inside. It has a built-in E27 fitting and an opening in the centre of its base for the suspension rod.What has to be bought with itThe box holds the shade alone, and it weighs 0.49 kg. The manufacturer intends it to be mounted on a ceiling base or a pendant set — neither is included, and each is ordered as a separate line. RENDL names HEX, ELISA, ENZO, KOMBIX, LISA and NYC as the bases it fits; those are what bring the lampholder, the cable and the ceiling fixing.No bulb is included either. The shade is made for an E27 cap and the manufacturer states a maximum of 23 W — an upper limit on the lamp's wattage that must not be exceeded, not the output the lamp delivers. How much light reaches the room is decided by the bulb you choose.Square, not roundThe plan is a 50 × 50 cm square rather than a circle, so it lines up cleanly with the edge of a table, a worktop or a shelf unit — and needs the same clearance on both axes. At 19 cm tall the body is low and wide, which is worth comparing with the drop of the base you pick: the whole combination takes up far more below the ceiling than those 19 cm.Diffuser and finishFor this shade RENDL sells a separate PMMA diffuser, number G11871, which closes the underside and screens the lamp; it is not included. The shade itself has no electrical ratings and no IP rating — both belong to the base or pendant set it hangs on, and that is what decides where the combination may go.
