GES350 is a wall-recessed steplight – not a surface-mounted one. The aluminium body in a graphite-anthracite finish disappears into the masonry, leaving only a rectangular 25 × 9.8 cm frame with an opal polycarbonate diffuser on show. The manufacturer supplies the full set: LED module, driver and back box (controcassa). What the wall has to be prepared for This is the one decision taken before anything is bricked in, so it belongs in the design stage. The wall aperture must be 23.5 × 8 cm at a depth of 8.2 cm; the back box itself measures 24.9 × 9.5 cm and is 8.8 cm deep, and the visible 25 × 9.8 cm frame covers the edges of the opening. The box is included, so during construction it is bricked in straight away and the fitting proper goes in only once the facade is finished – with no risk of getting mortar on it. Light at your feet, not in your eyes The 13 W LED module delivers 1200 lm at a neutral 4000 K with a 67° beam. The diffuser is opal rather than clear, and that matters here: it spreads the flux instead of throwing a hard-edged pool, so a fitting at knee height lights the steps and the driveway without dazzling whoever is walking up. 1200 lm is a lot for a steplight – a single unit genuinely lights a whole flight, so there is no need to fit one per step. Colour rendering CRI >80, rated life 30,000 hours. Outdoors all year An IP65 rating means fully dust-tight and protected against water jets – the fitting will take rain, snow and having the facade hosed down. The aluminium body also carries heat away from the LED module, which matters in practice once it is buried in a wall: an LED enclosed in masonry has no other cooling path.
