This is an aluminium end cap for the LUMINES inFLEXA profile, in black, in the version with a hole. It closes the end of the profile while letting the supply cable pass through it. Why an end cap with a hole An LED profile is an open channel: at its end you see the aluminium section, the strip and the wiring. The cap closes that section and makes the light line finish cleanly rather than simply stopping. The solid version seals the end completely; this one has a hole, so it belongs on the end from which the cable runs to the driver. In practice an installation uses both: solid at one end, holed at the other. Beyond appearance the cap does practical work: it protects the edge of the strip from mechanical damage and limits dust ingress into the channel, which matters concretely on a profile recessed into a ceiling – once built in, it cannot be cleaned without dismantling. Aluminium, not plastic The cap is aluminium, lacquered black. With plastic caps the usual problem is a mismatch in tone and gloss against the profile – after a few years the plastic yellows or fades differently from the metal, and the end of the line starts to stand out. A cap made of the same material as the profile ages with it. Fitting is push-fit: it slides into the profile channel, without screws and without adhesive, so it can be removed and refitted if needed. The inFLEXA system The cap is intended for LUMINES inFLEXA profiles – the recessed, bendable version of the FLEXA system. It is a profile pressed into a prepared routed groove that can be bent both horizontally and vertically, creating arcs of light in walls and on columns, flush with their surface.
