TRYSIL 1087AL is a complete Norlys pole luminaire standing 400 cm tall — a single extruded aluminium profile carrying a light head with a 71 cm reach. The manufacturer classifies it for lighting private areas and architectural schemes: paths, driveways, courtyards and parks, where a uniform, repeatable line of light points is what matters. Built for year-round outdoor duty Body and column are extruded aluminium profile, powder coated in an aluminium finish. The diffuser is transparent structured polycarbonate, UV stabilised — polycarbonate does not shatter on impact, and the UV stabilisation delays the yellowing that noticeably cuts output after a few seasons. A silicone gasket closes the housing. Norlys rates it IP65, meaning fully dust-tight and protected against water jets, and IK10 — the top impact class in IEC 62262, equivalent to 20 J. Light and electronics Two LED modules run on an electronic DALI driver. The sources draw 17.4 W and produce 3324 lm, of which 2054 lm leaves through the diffuser and optic — a luminaire efficacy of 102.7 lm/W at 20 W total draw. 4000 K, SDCM3 colour consistency and CRI 80 give neutral, repeatable light: install a run of these and shade differences between columns stay invisible. Distribution is diffuse, hemispherical and directed downwards, and the B1-U1-G1 BUG rating confirms little upward light and limited glare. DALI-2 control and wiring The luminaire carries a DALI-2 interface, so it can be dimmed and scheduled from a central controller — in practice that means dropping output in the small hours without changing any hardware. Terminals accept conductors up to 5 x 4 mm², and loop-through wiring of further luminaires in the run is designed for up to 5 x 2.5 mm²; the gland takes round cable up to 12.5 mm across. Inrush current is 5 A over 50 µs, which needs allowing for when sizing protection for a longer run. Power factor PF 0.96 and THD 10% meet the usual requirements for exterior lighting installations. Lifetime and servicing Declared module lifetime is over 102 000 h to L70B50, and the driver is rated at 50 000 h. More useful than the figures is that Norlys provides for both the light source and the control gear to be replaced by a professional — worn electronics do not mean dismantling the whole column. Made-to-order versions Beyond the catalogue build, the manufacturer offers this model in protection class II, in 2700 K, with a different luminous flux, with surge protection (SPD), in any RAL colour and at a different column height.
