S086 is a recessed linear grille fitting: an aluminium frame 14.7 × 4.5 cm in sandy white holding five separate cells with black interiors, each with its own deeply set lens. The black cells are not styling – they are the anti-glare element. The manufacturer states UGR below 18, a figure acceptable in offices: looking at the ceiling you see a dark grid rather than bright points. The light The LED module draws 11 W and gives 770 lm at a warm 3000 K in a 30° beam. CRI 90 and colour consistency SDCM < 5 are retail- and gallery-grade figures – fabrics and timber keep their true colour, and several fittings in a row share the same shade of white. Rated life is L70B50 50,000 h (about 46 years at three hours a day). Driver included – and a dimming option An On-Off driver, 600 mA (12–18 VDC), is supplied, so the fitting runs straight off a 220–240 V supply. With that driver it is not dimmable. The manufacturer does provide a controlled version, though: fit a DALI driver (FLS42D recommended, one per fitting, passed through the cut-out) and it joins a control system. Installation The cut-out is 13.5 × 3.5 cm and 5.5 cm of depth is needed above the ceiling – the two numbers that matter when setting out a suspended ceiling, since the body itself is 5 cm tall and has to fit along with the cable. Spring clips hold it. Class II means double insulation, so no protective earth is required; IP20 places it in dry interiors. Where it works A linear grille is a technical form, not a decorative one: it earns its place over a kitchen worktop, above a counter, in a corridor, in a display window – anywhere the light should be focused and the fitting invisible. Several in a line give a rhythm that suits plain interior architecture.
