LISENNE POLE 40 is a low garden bollard built from two materials nobody mistakes for plastic: a cylinder of solid basalt and a smoked-glass tube on top. Basalt is a volcanic rock, so every unit has a slightly different surface grain, and unlike powder coating it will not fade or flake over the years. Shape and size The fitting stands 40 cm tall and 12 cm across, on a steel mounting plate of 17 x 17 cm that bolts down to the ground. The low proportion is deliberate: light leaves at knee height, so it washes the paving and the edges of a path instead of glaring into the eyes of anyone walking past. At over 5 kg the bollard is also heavy enough to stay put on a terrace. Character of the light The smoked-glass shade gives a rotationally symmetric distribution, even all the way round the fitting, and mixes direct with indirect light. The smoke tint damps the bulb down, so the filament visible through the glass does not dazzle and the paving gets a warm pool rather than a hard cone. This is a fitting for guiding people along a path, outlining a terrace or picking out a border, not for lighting a large area. Light source and supply The bollard takes one E27 socket rated up to 23 W. That low ceiling means it is designed around LED and energy-saving lamps rather than classic incandescent bulbs.
