The presence of indicator Listeria such as Listeria innocua provides evidence that environmental conditions are suitable for the occurrence of Listeria monocytogenes. The Petrifilm® Environmental Listeria Plate detects the majority of environmental Listeria, consisting of Listeria monocytogenes, Listeria innocua, and Listeria welshimeri.
