Simply Dim — dimming without a dimmer MELINDA's most important feature does not show in the photograph. The fitting carries a Simply Dim driver, which lets you vary the brightness steplessly from 100% down to 10% using the ordinary wall switch — no rewiring, no remote, no dimmer module. The principle is simple: switch the light back on within three seconds of switching it off and the driver starts dimming. At either extreme — brightest or dimmest — it pauses for about two seconds and then runs the other way. When the light sits where you want it, just switch it off: the memory function stores that level, and the next time you switch on, the fitting comes up exactly the same. In practice that means a dimmable light in an existing installation with no electrical work at all — hard to overstate in a kitchen or dining room served by a single circuit. A metre of light in a curved form The fitting is 91 cm long and 35 cm wide, its body formed from curved lighting rods in a gold finish. That shape is not merely decorative: it stretches the light source across the whole length instead of concentrating it at one point, so above a table or kitchen island you get softly distributed light rather than a single hard circle. Total height including the suspension is 120 cm, shortened at installation to whatever is needed — over a dining table, usually so the bottom edge sits 70–80 cm above the top. 5400 lumens — and what "effective flux" means The 39 W LED module (within the fitting's 45 W total) generates 5400 lm. The manufacturer, however, publishes a second figure that most data sheets omit: 3100 lm effective — the light that actually leaves the fitting after the diffusers and the internal reflections. That distinction is honest and worth knowing. If you are comparing MELINDA against a light quoted only in module lumens, 3100 lm is the meaningful number. It is in any case enough to light a 12–16 m² dining room on its own. Permanently built-in LED The light source is integrated and permanently built in — there is no socket and no replaceable bulb. The colour temperature is fixed at 3000 K, warm white, well matched to the gold finish: cooler light would make the gold read as greenish. The fitting weighs 1.9 kg net, runs on 230 V and is intended for dry interiors. The same model also comes in a steel finish and in a smaller 57 × 57 cm format.
