IVAR 1 is a single pendant shaped as a narrow tube just 6.4 cm across, in a muted taupe shade. The body is not smooth — vertical fluting runs down it, and that fluting is the real subject of this collection. The same structural motif appears today on chest fronts, wall panels and kitchen islands, so the lamp does not so much complement an interior as repeat its texture.Light qualityThe 8 W LED module gives 1069 lm at 3000 K — close to 134 lm/W, clearly above average. The more important figure, though, is colour rendering: CRI 90, not the market-standard 80. The difference is visible to the naked eye on wood, textiles and food. The fitting runs anti-flicker — Thoro use TCI, Mean Well and KGP drivers matched to the fitting's power, so the light does not pulse, which matters when you work under it for hours.A narrow 36° beamThe beam angle is 36°. That is a concentrated beam, not a wash — IVAR 1 draws a defined circle of light on the worktop rather than brightening a whole room. Hence the point of hanging several in a row over an island or a long table, each serving its own place setting; as the only source in a room this fitting will not be enough.Dimming as standardEvery fitting in the IVAR series ships with PUSH DIMM and DALI-2 control. In practice that means two routes: in an ordinary flat a momentary push switch is enough — hold it and the brightness changes, with no extra electronics; in a smart installation the fitting joins a DALI-2 bus and is addressed alongside the rest of the lighting. There is no choice to make at purchase — both are in the same fitting.Build and installationThe body is powder-coated aluminium; the cable is black and the canopy the same taupe as the tube. Total suspension height reaches 200 cm and is shortened at installation. Weight 0.95 kg. The IP20 rating restricts it to dry interiors; protection class I requires an earth connection.Collection and warrantyIVAR covers a pendant in two versions — single (this model) and six-light — plus a ceiling light and a wall light, each in ten colours and in 3000 K or 4000 K.
