ALINOS in its 14-light version is fourteen slim tubes hung at staggered heights beneath a round black canopy 62 cm across. Each tube ends in a small clear glass sphere with a diode inside it.Three metals in one fittingThe tubes are not identical: the manufacturer gives the fixture colour as black, gold and copper, and indeed the rods come in all three finishes, intermixed. That is the move the model is bought for: seen against the light you get not a regular grid but a scattered, irregular composition of warm metals. The canopy stays black, so from below the mass does not break up the ceiling.Three dimming steps without a dimmerThe fitting has sequential dimming: successive presses of an ordinary wall switch cycle it through three brightness levels. No dimmer or controller has to be added — it works on wiring that is already there. At 4410 lumens on full, that ability matters: full output over a table at dinner, the lowest step as evening mood lighting.4410 lumens spread across fourteen pointsTotal power is 58 W for a flux of 4410 lm — enough light for this to be the only source in a living room or over a large table.
