Galena 3 Light Large Wall Lantern - Sable Elstead

Name: Galena 3 Light Large Wall Lantern - Sable Elstead
Brand: Elstead Lighting

Galena is a large wall lantern from Feiss (Generation Lighting), distributed by Elstead Lighting: a four-sided body tapering towards the bottom, with panes of seeded glass, topped by a vented cap and a scrolled arm. The stainless steel body has a Sable finish – a dark graphite-brown with a slightly rough texture. Size and mounting The lantern is 48.9 cm tall and 24.1 cm wide, and projects 27.3 cm from the wall. It is the largest wall lantern in the series, so by an entrance it is worth comparing its height with the door and leaving room above it for the scrolled arm. It weighs 3.5 kg, so it needs a secure fixing in the masonry. The IP44 rating protects it against splashing water from any direction, and the maker specifies it for exterior use. It is a class I fitting, so it has to be connected to the protective earth conductor. For a building corner the maker offers corner brackets sold separately (C-BKT2-BROWN, C-BKT2-BLACK). Light sources Inside stand three candle-style E14 lampholders, each for a bulb of up to 40 W. No bulbs are included – you need to buy three. The maker suggests clear LED candle lamps in 3000 K, a warm white, sold separately. The seeded glass softens the view of the bulbs slightly, but their flame shape stays visible. With a dimmer in the circuit, the fitting works with dimmable bulbs. The Galena series The catalogue lists the lantern for building facades, including hotels and restaurants. The Galena series in Sable also includes a medium and a small wall lantern, a half lantern, a chain lantern and a lamp post, so an entrance, a driveway and a terrace can be lit in one style.Show more
