LUMINES SUBLI is a deep recessed profile for plasterboard construction. The flanges on either side of the body are meant to be plastered over, so once the wall or ceiling is finished only the lit slot remains visible — the aluminium disappears under filler and paint. This item is a 1 m length in the black lacquered finish.Section and capacityThe channel measures 25.0 mm wide and 19.3 mm deep, which is enough to lay two LED strips side by side. That is an uncommon option in recessed profiles and it shows directly in the output: a single line of light can light a room rather than merely pick out an edge. The body is 27.4 mm wide and 27.5 mm tall, and with the mounting flanges the profile widens to 53.4 mm — allow for that in the build-up.Permitted loadThe aluminium acts as the heatsink, and it is what sets the power ceiling. The manufacturer quotes 35.0 W at a profile temperature of 55 °C and 46.2 W at 65 °C. The higher figure means a hotter housing and faster ageing of the diodes, so in a closed build-up it is worth designing closer to the lower limit. The driver is mounted outside the profile.InstallationTwo routes are provided: mounting springs, which brace the profile inside a finished aperture, and direct build-in — the profile is set between the boards, the flanges are covered with tape and filler, and the whole surface is painted with the wall. The system includes straight connectors, 90° and 120° angle connectors and an angled transverse connector, so a line of light can run from ceiling to wall without a break. Aluminium end caps are available with a cable hole, in white, black and silver.Covers and variantsThe profile takes DOUBLE covers in PMMA and polycarbonate — clear, frosted, milky, frosted milky, opal and black — as well as the DOUBLE FLEX opal cover and the RASTER DOUBLE louvre. The profile itself comes in 1000, 2020 and 3000 mm lengths and to order up to 6 m, in white lacquered, black lacquered and silver anodised.
