AVEO 1120 is a pendant lamp from the Polish brand Jupiter, built from two shades set one inside the other. The outer one is a wide white fabric drum 35 cm across; inside it, hanging slightly lower, sits a smaller cylinder of white opal glass. The whole assembly hangs on a thin steel cable led from a chromed stem and a flat, round ceiling rose. How it lights The double shade splits the light two ways. The glass cylinder covers the lamp from below and casts a soft, diffused pool straight onto the table – with no glaring point in the eye-line of anyone seated. The fabric outer shade lets some light through its sides and glows from within, so the fitting does not only throw light downwards but also lifts the ceiling and the space around it. The single E27 lampholder takes a bulb rated up to 15 W, which in practice means an LED – colour temperature and output are your choice, as no bulb is supplied. Build and finish Frame and fixings are steel in a chrome finish, the inner shade is glass. The suspension cable is adjustable – shortened at installation to the drop you need, with the surplus tucked into the characteristic loop at the clamp. The quoted 80 cm height describes the full extension including the suspension. At 1.48 kg the lamp needs no reinforced ceiling fixing.
