The Lumines current-carrying suspension kit hangs a linear luminaire built from an LED profile on a steel wire that also carries its power supply. The wire is 1500 mm long and 1.55 mm thick, with a 0.75 mm² copper conductor running inside a transparent FEP sheath. The fittings at both ends have a silver metallic finish. What is in the kit and how many kits you need The kit contains one wire, a ceiling connector with an M10x1 thread and a hole, and two insulated type 15 wire grippers – one with an M10x1 thread and one with an M4 female thread on the luminaire side. The wire length sets the longest possible drop: about 1.5 m below the ceiling. The same range also comes with 1250 mm and 2000 mm wires. In the manufacturer's installation diagram the luminaire hangs from two suspensions, and each wire carries one pole of the supply – one positive, the other negative. One luminaire therefore needs two kits. The power supply, the profile and the LED strip are not included. Voltage, current and load The suspension works at 5 to 50 V, in the low-voltage circuit after the LED driver – it is not connected directly to 230 V mains. The manufacturer gives a safe current of 9 A, which is the figure to compare with the current drawn by the strip in the luminaire. The 0.5 mm² version carries 6 A, so the 0.75 mm² conductor is the choice for more powerful and longer strip runs, where the thicker core limits the voltage drop along the wire. Each wire holds up to 2.5 kg (1.8 kg for the 0.5 mm² version). Compare this with the weight of the complete luminaire: profile with cover, strip and end caps. Which profiles it fits The manufacturer lists the kit for LUMINES profiles of the A, D, X, Y, I6, I10, MICO, SILEDA, DILEDA, DOPIO, ILEDO, TALIA and LARGO systems, and for the Largo M1 and Talia M1 mounting profiles.
