The square Steinel IS 3360 in the DALI-2 APC version, article 033514, is a concealed ceiling detector for presence and motion. Its white plastic housing, RAL 9003, measures 78 × 94 × 94 mm and hides the wiring in the ceiling. The lens covers a full 360°, and this exact variant is specified for indoor use. Three reaches, not one The article card splits reach by the direction of movement, so a hall or car park cannot be planned from a single figure. Tangential movement, across the field of view, extends to a 40 m diameter: a 20 m radius and about 1,257 m². Movement straight towards the detector stops at an 8 m diameter, about 50 m². Small presence at a workstation or standing point is counted only within a 3 m diameter, about 7 m². Someone walking across the space will therefore be seen much farther away than someone walking directly at the lens. Mounting height is 2.5–4 m, with 2.8 m given as the optimum. This variant is not specified above 4 m. The field is divided into 1,416 switching zones, and a sneak-by guard covers passage directly underneath. Individual segments can be masked out of detection, but the package contains the detector alone: the card does not list separate shrouds or a remote control. DALI-2 control without extra gear in the box The APC version is a DALI-2 application controller. Its control output works as a broadcast to 30 electronic ballasts, not as addressing of every circuit from an external controller. Detectors are linked by cable in a master/slave arrangement, including with a DALI-2 IPD sensor. Thresholds and times are set with the potentiometers on the device. Smart Remote, the RC5 and RC8 handsets, and the REL5A-DALI-2 relay are accessories, not contents of this set. The brightness threshold covers 2–1,000 lux, with a Teach mode that stores the current light level. On-time runs from 5 seconds to 15 minutes. A basic light level can remain for 1–30 minutes or all night, and the main light can be limited to 50–100%. Constant-light control can be switched on or off. One detector can then hold a working level while people are in the field and drop lower when movement stops, without a separate dimmer in this box. An indoor ceiling, and the IP20 limit Installation is concealed, in the ceiling. IP20 rules out wet zones and the outdoors, even where the wider IS 3360 family text mentions broader use. For this article the manufacturer lists interiors: stairwells, multi-storey and underground car parks, halls, warehouses, changing rooms, toilets and washrooms, plus production and ancillary rooms. Operating temperature is −20 to 50 °C. A corner wall mount is not included. Supply is 220–240 V at 50–60 Hz.
