The Quintiesse Nuvola Small is a flat disc of frosted glass 31 cm across, held at a slight angle by a single matte black steel arm rising from a small canopy. The whole fitting stands just 9.2 cm deep — the light diffuses through the glass and fills the room while the luminaire barely leaves the plane of the ceiling.An answer to low ceilingsA conventional flush fitting or pendant quickly becomes a nuisance in a room with a low ceiling. Nuvola was designed around exactly that problem: at 9.2 cm it does not eat into head clearance, which also makes it usable in circulation areas — a hallway, a corridor, a stair landing — where people need room to pass. The tilted disc keeps it from reading as just another flat plate stuck to the ceiling.Ceiling or wall — the same fittingNuvola is designed for mounting on ceilings and on walls alike. That is an unusual property, and it lets one design language run through a whole interior: the same model over the hallway and on the living-room wall, without hunting for a matching sconce from another family. The collection comes in two sizes (Small and Medium) and two finishes — matte black and gold.The lightThe LED source is integrated into the fitting and included — there is no separate bulb to buy and none to replace. The module draws 14 W and delivers 520 lm in warm 3000 K; this is atmospheric, supplementary light rather than strong task lighting. The fitting is dimmable, so with a suitable dimmer the level can be brought down in the evening.
