The Coliform Vial Detection System for Soleris® consists of a peptone-yeast extract base with lactose serving as the carbon source. The selective agents are bile salts, sodium lauryl sulfate, and other Gram-positive inhibitors. The pH value changes as a result of the acidification of the medium caused by the lactose.
