E474 is an outdoor wall light from the Greek brand Zambelis, made of concrete, metal and glass in a natural concrete finish. A coastal environment destroys ordinary outdoor fittings faster than frost and rain combined: salt aerosol works into every gap, filiform corrosion starts beneath the paint, and aluminium housings gradually bloom white and crack around their screws.A concrete body deals with this differently from a metal one — concrete is inherently salt-resistant and does not corrode. It is worth understanding that this is the light leaving the housing, not the flux of the LED module itself: the declared energy class F refers to the light source, whose efficacy is considerably higher than those two figures alone would suggest. Concrete is hard but brittle: the fitting will shrug off weather, but a strike from a mower, a ball or a tool can chip an edge. Mount it above the zone of accidental impact, not immediately above a pavement or beside a gate.Safety class I means an earth conductor must be brought to the point. The light source cannot be replaced — the LED is integrated, so after 30,000 hours the whole fitting is replaced.Natural concrete is a material that changes appearance over time: it takes on a patina, and darkens unevenly where rain does not reach.
