This is a post-top lantern, 2.5 metres tall Start with the scale, because "garden lantern" is misleading here. Stockholm Big 283 is a 252 cm tall set with a 92 cm arm spread — not a wall light and not a low path bollard, but a full-size park lantern. Norlys builds it from two catalogue items: art. 2018 (the fitting) and art. 3009/3011 (the post). Measure the site before buying — alongside a drive or an avenue that height is natural; on a small terrace it will dominate. Two heads, two lamps This is the twin-arm version: two square heads sit on a crossbar, each with its own E27 holder. The manufacturer's limit is LED max 2 × 9 W — that is 9 W per head, not 9 W in total. Two 9 W LEDs together give roughly 1600–1800 lm, a sensible figure for a drive or an avenue; beyond that the enclosed head runs hot. Lamps are not supplied. A head of horizontal louvres The series' signature: a square head built from horizontal louvres with the light escaping between them. The louvres screen the source from above and throw the output sideways and down, drawing a rhythm of bright and dark bands on the ground. Inside, a clear PMMA cover protects the lamp. The light-pollution classification is B0-U3-G1 — U3 means some of the output goes upward, which is the price of this open, decorative form. Steel, IP54, class II The structure is steel, finished in copper patina. Ingress rating IP54 — dust-protected and resistant to splashing water from any direction, right for a fitting standing in the open. Protection class II means double insulation: no earth conductor needs connecting, which simplifies installation on a post set in the ground. Operating range −20 °C to +45 °C. Installation and wiring The fitting is secured through 3 holes ø10.5 mm on a ø207 mm circle at 120°. The terminals take up to 4 × 2.5 mm² and the gland a round cable of max ø12 mm — so the supply can be looped through to the next lantern. For concreting the post, Norlys offers a concrete-foundation adapter (index 111) separately; like the other accessories it is not part of the set. The Stockholm family The same head runs through the whole Stockholm family — from a low path bollard to the tall single- and twin-arm lanterns — so a whole property's lighting can stay in one formal language. The Big 283 version is also made in black (283BL) and galvanised steel (283GA), with identical geometry and electrical data.
