Tie Rod End Joint for PORSCHE 964 Turbo Upgrade to Ball Joint for Increased Steering Precision Description: The joints on tie rods are subject to wear, which usually begins with a torn boot. Once the grease has been washed out of the tie rod end or axial joint, the ball joint will fail within a few thousand kilometers. At the latest, the defective rubber boots or ball joints will be flagged during the vehicle inspection (TÜV). Because replacing the tie rod always requires a new wheel alignment with toe adjustment, it is recommended to replace the entire tie rod depending on its condition. We offer a wide variety of tie rod ends, axial joints, and complete tie rods, including the correct steering boots.These axial joints feature an optimized "Turbo design." This is characterized by the zero-play ball joint. True to the original design, the Carrera models on the 911 G-model and 964 featured a ball joint with a rubber bushing. While this provided greater comfort, it resulted in less direct steering response. The 930 Turbo and the later 993 Carrera/Turbo models came standard with a zero-play axial joint.
