LIV BLACK is a one-light wall fitting: a round wall plate, a straight metal arm and a cylindrical lampholder pointing downwards, with a spherical smoked-glass shade beneath it. The metal parts are black and the black cord runs on the outside, from the plate to the holder. How much wall it takes The manufacturer gives 25 × 15 × 25 cm. Compare that outline with the free wall you have — with the gap between the edge of a mirror and a door frame, for instance. The whole fitting weighs 0.6 kg packed. The shade does not sit against the wall: a rigid arm carries it out from the round plate, so the glass globe hangs clear of the plaster. The holder faces downwards, so the main beam goes towards the floor rather than sideways. What light it gives and which bulb to buy The fitting takes one E27 lamp of up to 60 W. No bulb is included, so you choose the brightness and the colour yourself: around 400 lm is accent light, about 800 lm matches the old 60 W bulb, and 2700–3000 K gives warm, slightly yellow light. The shade is semi-transparent smoked glass, so the bulb shows through it and its shape becomes part of the fitting — which is why decorative bulbs with a visible filament are the usual choice for shades like this. The tinted glass also takes the edge off the light. The fitting has no built-in dimmer: dimming needs a bulb described as dimmable and a dimmer in the circuit. Build and where it may be installed The frame is metal in a single black finish, the shade is smoked glass, and the lamp is made in Poland. The IP20 rating covers dry interiors only, which rules out the splash zone by a washbasin and a terrace. One light point of up to 60 W is supplementary lighting rather than the main light source in a room.
