Wheel bearings are the central rolling bearings on vehicles that guide the wheel via the wheel hub in the wheel carrier. In the past, as with the 911 F model, open rolling bearings with separate shaft seals were also used. These have now been replaced by lifetime-lubricated bearings thanks to "functional integration."
