The RENDL LOLA 88 is a small cylindrical surface-mounted luminaire fixed straight onto the ceiling. Its black metal body holds a single GU10 light source, and the IP54 rating means it can also be used where moisture and dust are part of everyday life. It suits rooms where an unobtrusive shape and practical downward light matter more than decoration. A compact metal cylinder The housing measures 6.5 cm in diameter and 8.8 cm in height, and the complete fitting weighs 210 g. Those small dimensions make lighting layouts easy: several units can be lined up above a worktop, run along a hallway or placed symmetrically on either side of a mirror without visually crowding the ceiling. The cylinder carries no decorative detail, so it works equally well in modern and minimalist interiors, and the black finish stands out clearly against a light ceiling. The bulb is not supplied, so colour temperature, beam angle and lumen output are yours to match to the room; the manufacturer recommends bulb G11841 for this model. Fit a dimmable bulb and the brightness can be adjusted smoothly — the fitting itself places no limit on this, and dimming depends purely on the bulb you choose and the dimmer you use. IP54 protection against moisture and dust An IP54 rating means protection against dust and against water splashed from any direction. In practice that is enough for a bathroom outside the zones exposed to direct water, and for a kitchen, utility room, hallway or staircase. The manufacturer also allows installation in covered outdoor areas — under an eave, in a loggia or in a garden pavilion — provided the position is chosen sensibly and the fitting is not exposed to jets of water. Installation and power The luminaire runs directly from a 230 V supply and needs no transformer or external driver, which keeps installation simple and lets it connect to a standard ceiling outlet. The LOLA 88 mounts on the surface of the ceiling rather than into it, so it is a practical answer wherever a recessed fitting will not go: on a concrete slab, where installation depth is limited, or in a room with no suspended ceiling.
