akin, from the LUMINES Design+ series, is a profile that ceases to exist once the work is finished. Its wide, thin wings — 74.1 mm across in total — are buried in plaster and skimmed flush with the ceiling. What remains visible is only the line of light: no frame, no exposed aluminium edge.Two strips side by sideThis is rare in the class: the akin channel takes two LED strips of up to 12 mm each (2 × 12 mm). That gives three real options — double the output over the same length of line, two colour temperatures switched separately (say 2700 K in the evening, 4000 K for work), or a tunable-white set driven by one pair of dimmable circuits. With a single strip in a channel this wide it is worth centring it, so that the line does not drift to one side.A deeper strip means an evener lineLumines designed akin around a deeper strip position than surface profiles allow. The greater the distance between the diodes and the cover, the less the individual points show — the line reads as continuous rather than beaded. The FRACTAL cover from the midi series supports the same effect and comes as OPAL, CLEAR and BLACK.DimensionsThe body is 30.1 mm wide and 23.4 mm tall, the internal channel is 28.3 mm, and the span including the plaster-in wings is 74.1 mm. That last figure matters when the frame is being set out: the profile has to land between the ceiling channels, not on them.The finish: anodised, not lacqueredThis version is silver anodised. Anodising is an oxide layer grown into the aluminium itself, not a coating laid on top — it does not chip when the profile is cut or drilled, and a cut edge looks much like the rest.
