The O-ring is part of the oil system. In the 944 Turbo (951), it sits at the transition between the exhaust turbocharger, the engine mount, and the subsequent return line. Two are therefore required. In the 959, it seals each turbocharger to its mount. The sealing ring was initially also used in the 996 GT3 between the oil filler neck and the intermediate piece on the oil tank, but was replaced by a slightly smaller O-ring.
