The Steinel L 30 is a rectangular outdoor light 26.1 cm tall, with a white diffuser edged on one side by an anthracite trim. This is the version without a sensor — it lights when you switch it on, and stays lit as long as the switch is on.Sensorless is a choice, not a missing featureSteinel builds the same fitting in several control versions, and that is exactly what separates them on price: the manual version (this one), a version with a dusk switch that comes on by itself after dark, and the L 30 S with a motion detector that only fires when someone approaches. If you want something that reacts to movement you need the S version — a different article with its own EAN, not this listing.No bulb suppliedThe fitting has an E27 socket and takes LED or energy-saving lamps of up to 15 W. No bulb is included, so one has to be bought separately. The 15 W ceiling comes from the enclosed housing — a stronger lamp would run hotter inside it than the design allows. The diffuser is opal, so the filament is not visible and an ordinary frosted lamp is all it needs.DurabilityIP44 means protection against splashing water from any direction — rain will do it no harm, but it is not built for a water jet.
