A gold chimpanzee holding the shade EXTRAVAGANZA CHIMP is a figure lamp. The base is a seated chimpanzee in a gold finish that raises the black shade overhead with one arm while propping up its chin with the other. The wide-open eyes and that thoughtful pose give the piece a character an ordinary table lamp does not have — an object you notice with the light off. Size and proportion The lamp stands 45 cm tall and 30 cm across; the shade alone is a cylinder of Ø 24 × 18 cm. The height is fixed — nothing about the structure adjusts. On a sideboard or a console that size reads as the main accent; on a desk it takes up real estate, which is worth checking before you buy. Materials and finish The figure is cast in synthetic and spray-painted matt — hence the even, non-reflective gold tone and the clearly modelled fur. The shade is cotton and the cable is fabric-braided. The black shade throws light down and up and lets it out softly diffused at the sides. Connection and control The lamp is ready to use straight out of the box: a 150 cm cable with a Type C plug and an on/off switch on the cord — no back box, no electrician.
