The Italux OTTANA is a pendant built from two rings hung one above the other on thin cables. The larger is 60 cm across, the smaller hangs below it; both in grey metal with a silicone light band along the inner edge. The built-in LED draws 60 W and gives 7900 lm. How much light this is 7900 lm is a great deal for a single domestic fitting — the level used to light a room of 40–50 m² to working comfort. In a typical living room OTTANA will be the main light with nothing else needed; in a smaller room, consider a smaller version from the same family. Efficacy works out at about 132 lm/W, which is good for 60 W. A 120° beam and the twin rings spread the light widely rather than into one cone, and the silicone diffuser softens it with no visible LED dots. Colour rendering is CRI 80+. The colour temperature is chosen once — before installation This is the key thing to understand before buying. The fitting runs at three colour temperatures: 3000 K (warm white), 4000 K (neutral) and 6000 K (cool white) — but the manufacturer states plainly that the choice is made before installing. This is not a remote or an app: the colour is set during fitting and stays that way. So choose deliberately. 3000 K gives a warm, incandescent character in the evening and suits a living room or bedroom; 4000 K is neutral and versatile, good over a table and in an open kitchen; 6000 K is cool and technical — rarely the right call in a home. The fitting is not dimmable, so both colour and brightness are fixed: all the more reason to choose well. A drop of up to 150 cm Overall height is 150 cm from ceiling to lower ring, with the cables shortened to the length needed during installation. Over a dining table the usual figure is 70–90 cm from the table top to the bottom of the fitting; in a living room over a seating area it can hang higher, so the lower ring sits above a standing person's eye line. At 60 cm across and with two rings this is a fitting with real presence — it needs a room with space around it. In a narrow hallway it will simply be too big. Construction The body is metal alloy, the light section silicone. There is no separate shade — the silicone profile set into the ring is itself what glows, giving a clean, continuous line of light. The finish is grey, with a cylindrical ceiling rose in the same colour. The light source is included and permanently built in — there is no bulb socket, and when the diode is spent the whole fitting is replaced. Supply 220–240 V, protection IP20 — dry interiors only.
