Two finishes on one fitting Argon describes the colour of SATELITE 3989 in two parts: graphite lister and chrome. This is not a chromed fitting with an accent — it is a deliberate pairing of a dark matt surface with mirror metal, with chrome forming the body and mount while graphite lister appears on the glass elements. In practice that means a fitting that reads dark when switched off, and lightens and reflects the chrome when lit. IP44 — why that matters in a bathroom IP44 is protection against solids above 1 mm and against splashing water from any direction. An ordinary decorative wall light is IP20 and formally should not hang in a splash zone — beside a basin or opposite a bath. SATELITE 3989 may. That widens the list of permitted locations to include a bathroom (outside zones 0 and 1, that is away from the tub itself and its immediate surroundings) and a sheltered porch. A switch on the wall plate The manufacturer notes explicitly the "option to fit a switch on the wall plate". That saves chasing the wall: a fitting beside a bed or a mirror can be switched from the fitting itself, without running a separate circuit to a switch by the door. In a refurbishment where the wiring is already finished, it is often the only sensible way to add a light point. E27, your own choice The holder is E27, maximum power 15 W, and no light source is supplied. The 15 W limit is set for LEDs: an E27 LED of that power today equals roughly the old 100 W incandescent. Because the fitting has a glass element, the lamp's colour shapes the whole look — 2700 K gives a warm, golden reflection on the chrome, 4000 K a neutral and more technical one. Argon lists the energy class as "not applicable", since the fitting is sold without a lamp. Where a room's lighting should read as one set, the chandelier over the table can be paired with wall lights from the same family.
